With a “Northwoods” look and atmosphere, but with the nearby conveniences of a large metropolitan area, Pearl Lake offers a number of alternatives when it comes to camping. Whether it’s that weekend away “roughing it” tent camping with you family or enjoying a few days away, or that week-long summer vacation in your pop-up, travel trailer, or fifth-wheel, Pearl Lake’s campground provides all the amenities that you’d look for in a well maintained and managed camping facility.
Each campsite features water and electric hook-ups (30 amp and/or 50 amp service), a picnic table and a campfire pit (firewood available for purchase). Many sites also offer sewer connections/“full-hook-ups” (specify when making your reservation). Campers with RVs who choose sites without a sewer connection may use the campground’s dump station when departing. Pump-out service is also available, but at an additional charge.
A clean and modern bath house adjacent to the beach is open 24 hours per day and offers flush toilets and shower facilities.
Sites vary from shaded for those who prefer it, to more open sites for dependable satellite television reception. A WIFI system supplies complimentary internet and email access to a portion of the campground (specify when making a reservation if required).
All campers that purchase the additional package are provided with a pass for access to the lake’s expansive swimming beach. The beach is open, weather permitting (no “rain checks”), from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm daily, from Memorial Day to Labor Day. For each night spent in the campground, one day at the beach is available for up to four campers that are registered on the site. FOR SAFETY'S CONCERN - There must be 1 Adult with every 2 Children under the age of 12 who enter the Beach (For example 4 Children must have 2 Adults with them.
Fishing is also available, for campers that purchase the additional package, from the South shore of the lake to registered campers at no additional cost. With the clear water, the angling is challenging but can rewarding, in that the lake is stocked regularly with large and small-mouth bass, walleye, yellow perch, trout, white suckers, catfish and several varieties of bluegills. A 12 inch size restriciton is required to keep sport fish. Only night crawlers (available for purchase) or artificial bait are permitted.
Divers who are exploring the lake or are participating in training programs will find the campground convenient as well (the dive entry fee is NOT included in the camping fee).
IMPORTANT: Before making a reservation (815-389-1479), see our Camping Rules and Regulations regarding quiet, no visitors, maximum of one unit and 4 campers per site, pets, registration times, etc.
Pearl Lake Restaurant is open on Friday and Saturday evenings serving a selection of seafood, chicken, steaks, sandwiches and specialty items while the adjoining bar serves up a variety of mixed and frozen drinks, wine and beer. Additionally, the lake’s Beach Snack Bar also offers a variety of food choices, beverages and treats when the beach is open.
Pearl Lake Trailer Sales, our on-site RV/trailer sales and service center, offers any related camping items or emergency repairs you might require (815-389-1391).
